A Michigan pastor has opened a tattoo parlor inside his church. Rev. Steve Bentley says hes doing everything he can to reach out to people who have never felt comfortable at a traditional house of worship.
Very cool.
bring in the money changers, pornography for sale and abortion clinic and you can make anyone feel comfortable there.
I would no longer consider it a church
Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ with conviction would be a start. To lower the gospel to a standard less then Jesus asked for is gaining nothing.
Jesus never compromised. He preached the Gospel of salvation without compromising.
I've got news for you. These "community" and "pop" "churches" cannot be found anywhere in scripture.
Matt 15:9: But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
I got this 666 tat, free!
My kinda church. Hope they’re playing Donna Summer and KC and the Sunshine Band there!
Body is a temple
Right across from the First Baptist Bar and Grille?
Hmmm, I don’t see anything about the Gospel not being preached in this church... I must be missing something. And I must be missing something else, because I was under the impression that Christ came to save us, because we ALL are sinners. I have never seen it written that only perfect people are welcome to accept God’s undeserved gift of GRACE. Like I said, it seems like I’m missing something- at least according to some of the replies here.
I got this 666 tat, free!
lol...I got a 333 because I am only half evil!
Back in the dark crevices of my gray matter there is a faint image of a Steve Bentley who a few years ago was ministering in Florida........Brownsville, maybe......and there were supposedly great miracles, healings, even maybe visitations by angels.......if memory serves. And as I recall, from what I saw in a DVD of one of his services, every square inch of his skin that is visible outside his clothing was covered with tats. Could it be the same guy?
Really it’s 999. When you look down at it you may see 666, but anyone looking at you knows it is 999.
I seem to recall something about Solomon decorating his temple with all kinds of things.
Todd Bentley in Pensacola. Followed that debacle closely because some people I know were all caught up in it. Don’t think this is the same guy. He left the ‘revival’ with one of his female staff members and hasn’t been heard from since.
Todd, not Steve, Bentley...
FWIW; after posting my Reply #13 I went and did some checking. The person I remembered was actually Todd Bently, and he was in the Lakeland, FL area. To say that his type of ministry and pulpit manners were “unorthodox” would be quite an understatement. I recall that the DVD mentioned them havinf multiple services each week, with all of them jam-packed.
There are numerous remarks about him, and many of them classify him as being merely a notch or two above Beelzebub. In Luke 18:8 Christ asks a rhetorical question: “When the Son of man returns, will He find faith on the Earth?” Sometimes I wonder.
Wonder if Rev. Tim Tom frequents this church? He understands teens.
