I suppose I can’t convince you to give up your nature walks? How about no more food going into the woods with you? Scary.
Or she could take a gun. She is in Texas, after all.
It is rare that I take a lunch into the woods, and now that the cougar has added that gated neighborhood, with its yummy clueless pets to its territory, I will not be able to dine alfresco anymore unless I’m right next to my property and fence. That cat raids the dumpsters at that neighborhood clubhouse and park, so it is an opportunistic eater.
I always carry pepper spray for feral dogs, but suppose I must start to carry a sidearm, or hike with my neighbor who also hikes if I’m going very far now, and that is a shame-I do so like the solitude of being in the woods for hours alone.
