Investigators say a New York City teacher had her students make Christmas cards for an incarcerated felon.

The special commissioner of investigation for city schools says Queens public school teacher Melissa Dean asked her fifth-graders to make holiday cards for someone who was lonely.

The commissioner’s report was issued Wednesday. It says Dean mailed the cards to a friend serving time at the upstate Groveland Correctional Facility for weapons charges and violating an order of protection.

Some of the cards included students’ names and addresses. The package of cards was intercepted by prison officials, who called the school principal. That triggered the investigation.

Dean was removed from the classroom. The Department of Education is seeking to fire her.

The next period they were taught about how the different kinds of condoms work and mapped a route to the nearest abortion clinic.

The upside is that the kids probably misspelled their addresses.

Let us hope these felons don’t pay visits to these kids houses when they get out.

This is totally insane.

“It says Dean mailed the cards to a friend serving time”

According to the NY Post’s, the crud wasn’t just her friend, but her boyfriend.

Either way, this woman needs to be canned (fat chance, I know). To do this was incredibly irresponsible. To do it without even bothering to ask the parents first makes it even worse.

Jesus Christ.

If I was one of the parents, I would be waiting at her door. Of her home.

The inmate could have sold those children’s cards and addresses to other felons. Who could have tracked them down when they were released.

What is going on in our country??!!

And where is Charles Bronson when you need him?

This thing may be even worse than it seems. Apparently the incarcerated boyfriend was previous charged with possession of kiddie porn:

Now, it is true he wasn’t convicted. But I find myself wondering about the possibility of a chilling ulterior motive for the teacher’s “project”. Especially since she *encouraged* the students to put their personal information and home addresses on the cards.

We're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little more now if we can and the rest next quarter.

In NYC if she were having sex with the kids it could take 10 years to can her. She would be getting paid for nothing in the meantime.

“teacher Melissa Dean asked her fifth-graders to make holiday cards for someone who was lonely.”

Why yes Miss Dean why not? That lonely person in jail would love to hear from your fifth graders. Never mind the fact that he is in jail for boinking a fifth grader just like one in your class before he was busted.

Miss Dean you need to sit in the corner with a dunce cap!
