What if our 16th presidents plight was not to abolish slavery, but to hunt down the vampires who killed his mother and grandfather? And what if he leads troops into battle wielding an axe, better to sever the heads of undead vampires with?
That is the premise of this summers Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. (Yes, really.)

Oh yeah!!! Although my kids thought the actor playing Lincoln did not look much like the real one.

I would love to have been in the meeting when the writer tried to sell this script to the studio. “It got Abraham Lincoln, but....now here's the twist...he's a axe wielding vampire hunter. Think Civil War history meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

The trailer reminded me of the movie “Van Helsing”. Wonder of they will have Kate Beckinsdale as Mrs. Lincoln?

The movie is based on a book by the same title from the same author as the Pride and Prejudice meets Zombies book. So nothing to sell the studio since the book itself was very successful.

To be fair the sales of the book really made that argument for them. It really was a very interesting book with surprising historical facts thrown in to add credence to the story.

Very cool...
I hope this does so well that they do Pride and Prejudice and Zombies next. :-)
The books are a decent read. High entertainment value.

My friend has his brother in the trailer.
He is the young man seated all the way to the right in the platform scene(Gettysburg address?) after the Washington Monument cut.

Someone needed to do some editing of the Washington Monument shot because one can see the Arlington high rises in the background.
