Carter was running. Palin isn’t. If you don’t run, you can’t win.

That’s beyond unconventional.

That’s just weird.

Earth to fred. In order for people to try to get you to wear their clothes for free, you first have to have gotten somewhere in life, and also be able the make their clothes look GOOD.

Somehow, I don’t think you qualify on either count.

I’ve found that there are quite a few men (and some women) who are driven insane by the thought of a woman in a position of power. Even if she is conservative.

The problem here is that you all haven't gotten beyond the "first" grade.

But you have learned enough to recognize me as "second" grade.

So I will hold a little hope for you.

I never claimed to be a matinee idol or a swimsuit model. And what does that have to do with pissing on her shoes or her earning the money to buy her clothes? Or are you still stuck on the McCain campaign buying her a wardrobe? I daresay that’s been going on since politics started.

It is analogous to a metaphor.

You don’t know anything about Governor Palin’s 20 year political career?

Her reputation for being a giant killer and a reformer that took on both parties in Alaska and while creating many political enemies she beat the entrenched corrupt machines.

While doing that Palin became the most popular governor in America, perhaps in history, consistently in the low to high 80%, and even 93%, approval.

Palin was not known for being a religious figure, she was known for being a political master and reformer.

I’m aware of her history.

But I’m asking what her Presidential platform would be.
I don’t know what that would be, and I don’t know if I’ll be finding much of that out if a rabbit gets pulled out of a hat and Palin somehow wins the nomination.

The beauty of a Primary is that we get to learn all about what the candidate believes and supports and what their plans are. You’re assuming here that she’s going to be the super candidate, but what is she going to promote? A flat tax? Is she in favor of privatizing social security? How would she handle medicare?

Are we just going to have faith that she’s going to have good ideas? What if her platform is exactly like Romney’s, but without the baggage on Romneycare? Are we just going to assume that she’ll be our Messiah when she didn’t even campaign for the nomination and yet wins the nomination?

I’m opposed to it utterly. It basically means that all of our efforts, all of our input, all of our campaigning on behalf of the candidates who DID RUN would basically mean absolutely nothing at all. And the decision as to who will be the nominee will be left to a bunch of delegates who I don’t know and didn’t really have much input in selecting.

Gee, you really did just show up here recently.

I don’t think that freepers are in the mood to have to rehash what we spent 3 years on already.

Just start searching for old Palin threads and reading them.

A brokered convention will be run by the same people that have pushed McRomDole for the last year. If anybody thinks they will push anybody other than son of McRomDole they are smoking crack.

In addition, Palin has campaigned against "career politicians" like them. You don't have to be a candidate to be a career politician. Career party hacks are the same ilk.

Palin has proposed eliminating all corporate tax breaks, credits and loopholes, including energy related ones, and reducing the corporate tax rate to zero. That would be a huge boon to the economy while also removing many of the carrots and sticks by which Congress enables massive crony capitalism.

She has said that Ryan’s entitlement reform plans are a good place to start, but that we need to go further.

Her major point, however, by both her own record and her proposals at the national level, is to reduce spending and to absolutely cut the federal budget. She is in that way much closer to Rep. Paul than the other candidates running.

Gingrich would probably be closest to her overall perspective of any of the candidates running, which is part of why you’ve heard her speak more positively of him than of the others.

I seem to recall Knolls running against Palin for Governor and after the loss he sustained, Knolls referred to Palin as “Alley Cat smart”.

Yes, it works for me too.
