Santorum has less baggage to turn off voters, but Newt has a solid record of being able to push a solid conservative program to completion, in the face of Democrat opposition.

Your guess that Palin thinks Santorum is a close second may not be accurate. Rick made some nasty remarks about Sarah when it was thought she still might enter the race.

When asked about those comments, Sarah said, “ I don’t worry much about comments from knuckle dragging neaderthals.”

She has also made comments about Rick’s lack of fiscal conservatism.

Of those in the race now, Newt is Sarah’s guy.
