What’s next ,Boxers suing their trainers?
While I wish it didn't take a lawsuit to accomplish, it is high time that the NFL start taking brain injury into account.
Case in point: The Giants going after Kyle Williams because of his history of concussions. From the article at the Sporting News:
Devin Thomas, who recovered fumbles on both plays, was even more direct in his discussion of the Giants strategy. He said a big hit by special teams player Tyler Sash on Kyle Williams late in the third quarter may have contributed to Williams shaky play thereafter.
Hes had a lot of concussions," Thomas told the Newark Star-Ledger. "We were just like, We gotta put a hit on that guy. ... Sash did a great job hitting him early, and he looked kind of dazed when he got up. I feel like that made a difference and he coughed it up.
This shows that the destruction on one's brain is just another strategy in the current state of the sport. That isn't sport, that's brutality.
I LOVE football, but I love humanity better. We can do better, the NFL can do better, so let's get to work on saving player's brains.
