Firefox does not trust Google - Vanity
Little House on Unaka | February 21, 2012 | don-o

Listening to the local news this moring, they were reporting on Virginia's legislation requiring "rans vaginal ultrasound". I had not heard that term, so I tried to do a Google search. Firefox flashed this:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

I have been hearing about changes in Google's privacy policy, but have pretty much ignored that until now. Should I be worried?

I have no problem searching with Google.

And I’m running Firefox.

Maybe you should check your Privacy or Security settings.

Under ‘Privacy’ I checked ‘Tell websites I do NOT want to be tracked’.

Maybe that will make a difference.

Two things I use:

https://ixquick.com/ as my search engine. They do not record your IP Address.

And, another little program called “Do No Track Plus” from
http://www.abine.com/ which blocks tracking cookies.

The pro aborts have been claiming this is some horrendous invasive procedure when in fact most abortion facilities already do it to determine fetal age (whether they can send you home with a ru-486 pill .. their highest profit procedure or do a surgical abortion and determine the rate they will charge) ... The machines are dirt cheap , made in China and can be found on eBay for about $1100 with shipping..heres an example

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-NEW-FULL-DIGITAL-Portable-Ultrasound-Scanner-Machine-with-CONVEX-Probe-USB-/280828139128?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4162a95678

In the end this will be (for PP) a profitable exercise as it will be one more "non-abortion" procedure they can charge medicare/medicaid for.

Discovered my problem was my computer clock. It had reverted to 2004 (had a power outtage) last night and it rebooted itself.

But, I am still interested in the whole Google reach out (around?) And I did find and check the box you mentioned.

“Under ‘Privacy’ I checked ‘Tell websites I do NOT want to be tracked’.”

Unfortunately this does not work for FF versions under 4.0. I am still running FF 3.6 under Windows 2000. Versions 4.0 and above do not work on my PC. Any other suggestion other than get a new PC?

Linux Mint! It’s free!

Or, get Windows XP.

I’m surprised that you can’t upgrade on your computer because my wife’s computer also runs 2000 and her FF version is either 4.0 or higher.

Her ‘privacy’ settings do have that box, so you should be able to upgrade FF as well.

Ooops!

I see where you did check the box, but it didn’t work.

Like I said. I don’t have that problem with Linux.

“I’m surprised that you can’t upgrade on your computer..”
I tried FF 4.0; but had to back it out. I was receiving ‘screen over writes’ on the tool bars and various sections of the display screen, making the current screen unreadable. Almost as if the screen was not cleared from the previous display. FF was no help they told me to upgrade.

Did you try changing the ‘font’ size under ‘Content’?

It should have fixed that problem although most of the time ‘fold overs’ of the screen are related to a Graphics driver problem, and not a program fault.

How do you do that? I am PC challenged at times. I would appreciate the help!

I had a trans-vaginal ultrasound. It was either when I was pregnant and could not empty my bladder or it was prior to surgery for a tubal pregnancy.

Either way, it was weird. The tech covered the appropriately shaped transducer with a condom and handed it to me. I didn't even get a cigarette when she was done.

Up on top of FF go to ‘Tools’, ‘Properties’,click ‘Content’ tab.

Middle of page has the ‘Font and Colors’ section.

Chrome doesn’t trust Google either. And Chrome is a Google product.
