Davy Jones, the lead singer of the pop group The Monkees, died Wednesday at the age of 66, his publicist confirmed to Fox News.
"The only thing we can do is confirm that he has died of a heart attack at Indiantown, Florida this morning," his rep Helen Kensick told Fox News. "We will have more later.
The local medical examiner released a statement Wednesday confirming that they had been notified of the singer's death.

Yeah, I went to youtube and watched a video of Daydream Believer and they were just kids, and when I first saw it they looked like MEN to me (because I was about 10 years younger than them). So sad about Davy Jones. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything bad about him. He seemed like a good guy, a good entertainer, and I saw that he left a wife and has 4 daughters. 66 is young, but at least he died in his sleep.

I’ve always loved those lyrics. They seem sort of a strange take on the Beatles song at the time which went “She loves you yeah yeah yeah. She loves you yeah yeah yeah”. OK I was a kid at the time, but I liked it.
When I first saw them - as an 8 year old - Davy Jones looked young! But youre right, he seemed like a very decent guy.
Davy always seemed younger than the rest but they seemed sort of like adults to me, I was a pre-teen when the show was on.
