PITTSBURGH (KDKA) A dog that mauled a baby in McKeesport last week has been seized and quarantined.
The Allegheny County District Attorneys office obtained a court order Thursday to take the Husky away from his new owners in Churchill.
Nikko is blamed in the death of a 2-day-old baby in McKeesport last week. The babys mother, Brandy Furlong, left the baby in a carrier on the floor while she went upstairs for a few moments. Thats when the dog attacked.
Police say Furlong adopted Nikko from Craigslist just two weeks before the attack. The dog had a broken leg and was living with three pit bulls at the Scott Street home in McKeesport.
On Wednesday, Nikko was released from the custody of McKeesport Animal Control Officer Ken Ferree and turned over to Furlong. She then gave Nikko to William Uhring, of Churchill, who paid several hundred dollars in fees attached to the dogs release.
Uhring told KDKA-TV he felt sorry for the dog and wanted to adopt it since he already has a Husky and has cared for large dogs in the past.

The authorities give the dog back to the NEGLIGENT owner but SEIZE the dog after it has a NEW owner?
This is epecially true of Huskies. Pit Bulls and Rotties are responsible for the vast majority of fatal dog attacks, including those of infants and toddlers. But, Huskies, though they almost never kill an adult or older child, kill infants and toddlers more often than just about any breed other than Pit Bull types and Rotties.
my grandaughter was attacked 2 weeks ago sadly she has a 3 inch 20 stitch lifetime scar on her right cheek, back of neck and collar bone scars. why does it take toddler deaths to take action. as a rural texan, i should have a right to shoot stray dogs and negligent owners should be criminally charged. is there a difference if 1 of my 3 dogs kill your child or my gun, either way it’s a negligent owner.
Is that you, Chett99?
