Employers certainly do that-last week, my daughter told me about a classmate getting her resume out there-to the private sector-in anticipation of graduation. It seems she had indulged in some nonsense with a (now ex) boyfriend at a website that involved nude/seminude posing, risque conversation, etc, but nothing hardcore.
She was confronted with a printout of some of her stuff by a potential employer, told she was not on the short list, and thanked for her interest in the company-she was mortified. My daughter said mom I had to slap my forehead and say WTF did you expect? She just looked blank-didn’t understand at all-thought it was just harmless fun and didn’t see why it should affect her being in the public eye as groundwater safety technician who provides in-service training to well drillers-who are mostly MEN-duh!
