I am always nostalgic for the original Star Trek series ... I grew up watching the episodes as a kid. I just don't like any of the newer series, spinoffs and movies though.

I just started playing the online game Star Trek Online and it's marvelous! I've been playing computer games since about 1983 when I saw my first one, in fact thats what pointed me to a 30 years career as a professional computer consultant. STO is absolutely the best of the thousands of computer games I've played.

You get your own starship and as you level up you get better ones. You have both space battle missions and ground missions where you take 4 other bridge officers as an away team down to planets and asteroids to kill Klings and Orion's as well as other baddies.

It's superbly done and I can't get enough of it. ;)
