Santorum is a disaster. He's going to drag down the Newt and make Romney the nominee. This guy has no shame, I'm telling you.

Santorum is the official spoiler of this primary.

I hope he's real proud of helping Mitt.

And yet Santorum is the one still statistically tied for FIRST PLACE in Ohio, so I don’t know how anyone can rationally claim he’s dragging anything down... especially given that Newt has consistently been way behind in third place and Santorum is once again being grossly outspent and maligned by the Romney and Paul attack machines.

Look, if you want Gingrich to have the best chance of remaining viable in this race, you’d best be hoping Santorum wins Ohio because a Romney win in such a key swing state will pretty much make him the presumed GOP nominee. If Santorum and Gingrich can collectively win at least four primaries among themselves on Super Tuesday (Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, and Oklahoma), it should greatly help slow Romney’s current momentum. The Santorum and Gingrich camps really need to be cheering on each other right now!

If you look at the numbers, Newt doesn’t have a chance of winning. But he has been attacking Santorum viciously, and it looks as if the result of that is that he may hand another state to Mitt.

If it wasn’t for Newt, Santorum would have won Michigan and Washington. Thanks to Newt and his dismal 4th place win in most states, we will be stuck with Romney instead of the most principled, moral, family values candidate in 30 years. Newt knows this and is working with Romney to ensure he wins.

You know, I've never had a problem with Newt or with Santorum. I would be happy to vote for either one of them. I'll never vote for Romney.

That said, I've been really turned off, for a long time, by very many of the Newt supporters on this site and elsewhere.

Ya'll are more abrasive, fanatic, and disagreeable than even the Paul-bots are.

You really are not doing your candidate (who is polling at half of what Santorum is) by being such constant a-holes.

Unless Newt’s latest surge came come to fruition by Tuesday, Ohio goes to Romney. I suppose that in order to defeat Romney, one should be rooting for Santorum in Ohio; but because of Santorum’s ballot/delegate problems in Ohio, a two-man race between Mitt and Rick ensures Romney gets the victory no matter what.

We’ll have to wait another day and a half on Ohio. If Newt doesn’t rise enough, it would be better for Santorum to win, even though he can’t really win, just to deny Romney the headline.

On the other hand, TN seems to be a three-way-tie, if we are to believe the polls, and Newt is the legitimate best option. Newt has no delegate or ballot issues there, and Santorum does.

Strategic anti-Romney voting, if we could ever get it, goes like this right now:

Santorum in Ohio,
Newt in Tennessee,
Paul in Virginia,
Santorum in Idaho,
Newt in Alaska,
Santorum in Oklahoma (likely, but old polls, so hard to tell)
Newt in Georgia,
Paul in Vermont,
Your choice in North Dakota,
Forget Massachusetts.

This could all change in two days, I suppose. We’ll see........

You're happy Romney might win? You're the one helping Romney if you can't see Santorum must win Ohio in order to prevent him from winning the nomination.
