GCB, ABCs new dramedy starring Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb, and Annie Potts, premieres tonight at 10 p.m. Earlier this year, GCBs executive producer Robert Harling told reporters that the show would remain respectful. The goal is to watch these people try to be good. What we emphasize is that we will never ever look at this in any other way than the most respectful as possible. We will never ever be disrespectful. But it seems highly unlikely that the show wont offend at least some people. So before the, um, Bitches make their TV debut, we decided to take a look at the novel that inspired it all. Good Christian Bitches, by Kim Gatlin, tells the tale of the recently divorced Amanda Vaughn. Amanda flees her Southern California homeand cheating husbandto restart her life in Hillside Park, the uppity Dallas neighborhood where she grew up.

Chenowith (the main actress), says she’s a Christian and was hesitant at first, but then read the script and thought it was great. Of course, any time I’ve heard her open her yap, she has sound rather liberal to me.
The show GCB is an affront to all Real Christians and violates our First Amendment Rights to practice Christianity.
We need to put pressure on ABC and our Republican representatives in Washington to pull this vile anti Christian trash off the air.
Ha! You’d see JLI before-JAPS of Long Island!
The book GCB stood for Good Christian Bitches. The television show slightly changed it to Good Christian Belles. It is almost always referred to as GCB.
government has nothing to do with this.
The suits decided deviant sex sells and advertisers believe people who buy their products watch this stuff.
If you want it pulled, pull the money.
Remember the golden rule, he with the gold makes the rules.
Today for sure
just built a web site to show that very hypocrisy (goodmuslimbitches.com). well, someone had to do it :-).
that has all the sincerity of Obama’s mandatory abortion insurance “compromise”
no matter the lie, it is still the “bitch” show.
I know that sometimes supply creates its own demand. I’m not sure all that many people were, even secretly, harboring desires for “Sex And The City: Dallas Edition”.
Who needs to see the show when from the get-go, the title alone is enough to disgust most people. Respectful? I can only imagine what this dufus thinks is "respectful," given the vile title of the show.
the left have now all gone out on war against Christianity, health insurance, programs, this crap, taking away certain holiday names.
And still we have millions of dopes in this country who will watch their local TV channel, not say a word, not send an e-mail, not boycott etc
I saw the premier of the show. I grew up in Dallas, so I was curious. It is way over the top, but I will say there are some real bitter truths in the show.
I live in California. My kids are surrounded by Californian Christians. Liberals out here are crazy, but the Christain community is very, very faith filled and wonderful.
(I have plenty of Texas friends who are not like my family.)
Now that my kids are older and we visit family in Dallas, they cannot believe some of the antics of my “Christian” family. They are very, very gossipy. They drink a lot. They are very concerned about appearances.
I think if the main character of the show was a Christian who has redeemed herself, then I think it would be an okay show. However, the nice character in the show is just “ spiritual”.
Or even a show called JAPs about Jewish women.
I would observe that clever and offensive are not mutually exclusive. However, without wasting more time to investigate, I suspect in this case, it’s offensive only, and not very clever.
Just don’t watch...how good could it be anyway?
Fixed it.
Haha! True that!
