I did steal a dog once! Only thing I have ever stolen in my life and it was over 50 years ago so the statute of limitations is over. I stole it from some people who didn't know how to treat a pup and Barney slept with his head on a satin pillow for the rest of his life. He was one lucky dog!

Sounds like the cat I just took in a few weeks ago. The vet said he’d been out there on his own for awhile, his paws were calloused and has scars to prove he’s been in a few fights along the way. He has NO teeth! Much to the vets surprise and isn’t sure how he lost them all. Obvious whoever had him didn’t see to him well at all.

However, on vet trip learned he is microchipped but not registured. Phone calls showed phone disconnected. Maybe the guy died or moved, at this point it doesn’t matter to me I’m keeping him. Though I would have to give him up, I understand, if the owner does contact me. Someone said to have the microchip transferred to my name so I will see about the legalities of that on next vet trip.

Interesting thing is.. for being an outside cat for so long he wants nothing to do with going back out there and makes that abundantly clear.

As my landlord said...”That cat has won the lottery now”. He has a great bed, his own recliner, toys and lotsof food and catnip too. But most of all he gets lots of attention!
He’s a good cat and not demanding at all. A keeper for sure!
