I've been to many of Marie Osmond's signing events, and she always makes the time for everyone to get the chance to meet her. But, the purpose for the event in the first place is to sell her dolls or crafts or books. It's the same thing at book signings. You have to buy the book at the store during the event to get it signed by the author, and and they won't sign anything else, and probably won't personalize it, either.
On this cruise, I was surprised and disappointed at how selfish and inconsiderate many of the fans were to Donny and Marie, and of the other fans who were waiting for their turn to meet them.

I can understand having to purcahse an item for the writer/designer to sign.
Is it necessary to dig up the names of Jimmy Swaggart, Marvin Gorman, Jim and Tammy Bakker, Robert Tilton, Ted Haggard, Paul Barnes, ......etc, etc...and the millions of people who turned over their life savings to those crooks??? And I haven't even mentioned the catholic church yet.
From what I can see, the Mormon church is the least of your worries.........
And to answer your anticipated question, NO, I am not a mormon nor do I subscribe to any organized religion, especially those who just want your "love offerings" in exchange for prayer towels.
Wow tell me more. I always thought she was Ms. Goody two shoes, but it seems she is not at all. How many times has she been married? 900 times? Plus what gets me about this broad is I read she turned down the part of Sandy in the movie version of Grease because of her “religious beliefs”. This is the part Olivia Newton John eventually played. I assume Marie was against the ending where Sandy smokes and wears skin tight leather. Yet Marie it seems has no problem bragging about pissing herself when she laughs or even literally pissing herself on stage. And just what is the real story about her adopted sons suicide? He was gay so they told him to take a hike? Real nice. Strange ass woman. But like I always said: Never trust a woman who wears 20 pounds of makeup on her face.
Yep, I can relate to that. I don’t know what’s worse, the night sweats, the hot flashes or peeing a bit every time I sneeze or cough or laugh too hard. But then waking myself up with my own snoring also ranks pretty high on the list.
There is no proof what is false and what is not. Thats why they call it a belief, cuz ya gotta believe or it doesn’t do anything for ya. I am glad to see you have strong beliefs, great, quit knocking other for theirs. .Ccuz when you do, it makes you a bigot!!!

And I have yet to see you call Mormons bigots - which they are by your standard - since they go around telling every other church (including all Christian ones which they claim they are actually part of) is completely wrong and only they are the true denomination. By far I have met more nice celebrities than nasty ones. Her problem apparently (according to my Sister in law) is that she and her entourage thought that the store should stay open (and give her deep discounts) just because she was famous.
Apparently, she didn’t realize that most Palm Springs store employees and owners are immune to that. They are much more likely to be generous with time and discounts and stuff if the celeb doesn’t expect or demand it.
If self-righteousness, bitterness, and smugness were Noahide virtues, the You would be in the Noahide Hall of Fame !

Which time. She lived a few doors down from us. She wasn’t really ‘active’ in the LDS church at the time, but when she did come to church she would act all self-important, and expect everyone to cow-tow to her. She caused problems in the neighborhood, was rude, expected to be treated better than everyone else, would make promises to members of the ward and never keep them, just one thing after another.
She wasn’t a nice person, not just to me but to most of the neighborhood. It is hard, in a almost 100% LDS neighborhood to find someone more self-righteous and self-important than the average person - yet there she was.
Some people treated her with awe, I grew up in Palm Springs and wasn’t star-struck in the least and she seem to really resent that about me at the time.
What is your issue? I haven’t even begun to name drop. Again, it is just part of where I grew up - everyone had celeb stories.

Like I said, I haven’t even begun to name drop. It isn’t about that or even bragging, it is just stating a fact.
I grew up in Palm Springs and except for when I lived in Utah, I lived there my entire life until a couple of years ago. My husband and SIL grew up there as well. Dealing with celebs is just part of growing up there. I don’t know a single person who grew up and worked there who didn’t have a least one (and usually) many more celeb stories.
Similar to going to Beverly Hills or Hollywood High in the mid 20th century - it is just part of life.
Yet you seem to think that YOUR beliefs are the only ‘true’ ones and you hold a double standard.
But go ahead and wallow in your self-righteousness.

This event happened on March 2, and yet is only being reported now. Osmond was not "bragging" about it, but she is making the best of an embarrassing situation. I suspect that it's only coming out now because some Youtube videos from the theater were posted on-line, and then word got out.
For the record (since the true story has not been reported), here is what happened that night.
It was the last night of the cruise, and the event was a "talent contest" like America's Got Talent, where contestants (who auditioned the day before), were selected to perform and then the Osmonds would critique them (but not score winners or losers). It was meant to be a fun event where the Osmonds were entertained by the fans, instead of the other way around. The actual Donny and Marie performance was the night before (Thursday, March 1).
At the beginning of the evening, Don Jr. (Donny's son, who was emceeing) showed a video of stills from the week, as fun memories of the event. Then they moved to the talent show. After the talent show portion ended, Donny introduced another video produced by the ship's staff that was another retrospective of the week. This video was incoherent, group shots of crowds made no sense, there were redundant photos of the same thing from different angles, and it was hard to recall how the pictures related to Donny and Marie, other than being crowd shots on the ship.
When the video ended, Marie said something like "what was that?" Donny asked someone in the wings "Who produced this?" and then repeated "The ship did this?"
Marie then blurted out "The ship's not going to do it again. That was awful." Donny looked momentarily shocked that Marie would say that so bluntly, while ship personnel were around.
That's when Donny started laughing and said "I love having you as my sister." He then said "It looked like ship!"
That's when Marie started laughing hard, and then Donny started laughing even harder, then they both started laughing to the point of falling to their knees, and the audience was laughing with them. I guess they were laughing at their clever pun on the profanity that they didn't really say.
So, at this point they are on the floor laughing when Don Jr. comes out between them and says "How wonderful it is to have my dad and my aunt at my feet like this!" Earlier, Jr. remarked how uncomfortable he felt calling them "Donny and Marie" because he's used to calling them Dad and Aunt. Anyway, Donny and Marie are still laughing hard, and at that point Marie announces "Uh-oh... I think I just peed in my pants." Donny looked at her in disbelief, saying "Really?"
Marie then says "Oh ship! I did pee in my pants." She tried to stand up, but was checking to see if it showed in her leggings, or if her wrap would cover her hips. She'd get up on one knee and then decide it was best to stay down so she doesn't show a wet spot. Trying to make the best of a bad situation, Marie then joked "Now you know what it's like to be a woman over 50!"
A moment later, a woman in the front row ran up to the stage to drape a jacket over her legs, and then someone came from stage right with a towel, and someone else came from stage left with another towel, and then Marie took the towels and started making large wiping motions on the stage, as if she were cleaing up a wet spot. Everyone, of course, was still laughing. Marie was making the best of an embarrassing situation.
Don Jr. says they should probably close the curtain. Donny gets up to his feet and says they should sing their theme song, which they do to close every performance. He sings the first line, "May tomorrow be a perfect day..." to which Marie ad libs something like "May you be drier along the way..."
Donny then says "Goodnight, everybody" and they close the curtains.
