I probably should have made a distinction between hunting for food and “sport”. The “sport” anology is crap. It isn’t sport to hunt and kill an animal that doesn’t have a chance against a higher intelligent and armed foe. I have no problem with hunting for food as that is the nature of all mammals.

Have you ever hunted? It doesn’t sound as if you have. If hunting was as you think it is, it would be no different than a slaughterhouse. I have known a lot of hunters, and none of them find slaughtering animals recreational.

If you are at all curious about real hunting, vs a perverse view of it, you might look at this book by Jose Ortega Gasset.
