I really like the show.
I do wonder how long they’ll be able to wing it without a ‘real’ gunsmith since that Vince guy left. Though I don’t like how he went about leaving, I can’t blame him for doing so, because from what we saw on the show, the owner was really treating him like shit. I enjoyed watching him go back in and briefly work during the most recent episode.
The guy that married the owner’s daughter is dumber than a box of hammers, so I’m sure he won’t be the one taking his place. From what I see of the show right now, if I needed a gun worked on, they wouldn’t be on my list of shops I would call. It’ll be interesting to see how it all turns out.
What happened with Vince?
I lost interest in the show ages ago because Will is an asshat
In real life Will lost his FFL because he is an asshat and Vince had to run the company in the interem.
Then I see the show and they say Vince is persona non grata.
Will is an asshat.
As an old body and fender guy, with a box full of hammer's, I resent that remark, my hammer's made me a helluva lot of money. end of sarc. ;-)
The show could use a welder, not some Tig Welding Queen. By Welding Queen, I mean someone who just sits on a chair and Tig weld's small part's, i.e., part's less then 3/16." Had they had a certified welder when the were restoring that Mortar Rocket Launcher, they simply get a piece of similar tube / pipe stock, cut & replace, maybe an hour to an hour and half worth of work, with what is called a "Full Penetration Weld."
Using 0.45 to 0.65 Flux Core Wire, with a shielding Gas 75% Argon, 25% Co2. Because of the location of the weld in reference to what would of been needed to be replaced on the Mortar Rocket Launcher, I wouldn't bother to run gas inside the pipe while welding, so as to have a smooth bore. It was so close to the end, that if a smooth bore was necessary, just put it (Mortar Rocket Launcher Tube) on a lathe, cut/clean up the weld (inside the tube) your, done. NEXT (item to be welded)!
