““I’m a loser who won’t commit, but have sex with me anyway, okay?” ... while my 14-year-old yells, “You’re ruining it!””

****

“That’s my job, Sweetie!”

Nicely played, Mom! :-)

Thank you. I figure since I do the dirty work of child-rearing, I should get to have the fun, too.

In talking with one reviewer who has seen the movie, it is pretty much a ripoff of the “Twilight” movies in the worst way. The story in the movie, essentially, involves a love triangle between a young woman and two “girlie-men”. The reviewer thought it had a “left-wing bent”.

a love triangle between a young woman and two “girlie-men”.

Sounds like every movie starring Reese Witherspoon or Jennifer Anniston.

My friends said parts of it were filmed in Charlotte, Greensboro, and environs.

Liberal or Conservative? Hunger Games is neither. It's a watered-down, Westernized version of BATTLE ROYALE.

re: Katniss Everdeen is a 16 year old Sarah Palin. She shoots squirrels and rabbits through the eye with a bow and arrow and guts them in a couple minutes.

re: Katniss and her boyfriend Gale are survivalists, preppers and bow-strung `gun nuts.’ Her friend Peeta is a hard working baker and has courage, humor and fidelity,

Good points! How left-wingers could even attempt to claim the Hunger Games as “their own” defies logic. Of course, just about everything Liberals believe defies logic. So, I guess it is not so surprising afterall.

I thought it had a lot in common with "The Running Man"...

My son really really wanted to see it. Since my FR kin seemed to think it had some redeeming values I went along with it.

I think it is amazing this movie was made. Even more than "The Running Man" it makes fun of elitists, Hollywood, and the self-declared upper crust. (ie. liberals) I think it is equally amazing that it was made in this time of so much of Hollywood's rapture with hussein. The anti big, centralized, overbearing, vengeful, all-too-powerful central government message is plain. Even had hussein's "civilian" defense corps in there to keep the peace when District 11 started rioting.

This movie is a slap in the face of Hollywood, liberal intelligentsia, and big centralized government abusing its citizens.

Too lazy to go find the article claiming Hunger Games was about the evil rich. I’ve listened to the audiobook and it’s clearly an anti-gov’t message. While the people in the Capitol are the ones that watch the games, they are (with a few exceptions) completely clueless. The clear “evil” in the book is President sn0w {see what I did there}.
