When my husband died a year ago, I asked that trees be planted in Israel.

Several people on FR arranged for the JNF to plant a Quincunx of trees in his memory.

True story...little groups of five.

Your WFTD is a longstanding rule of landscaping and how to plant groupings, always in odd numbers too.
It is supposed to break a record for high temps today. And we'll be in your town on Thursday, and we're bringing the prodigal Russian.

I remember when Malkin defected, basically. Ran away from his team to join the NHL.

There are plenty of mixed feelings with Radulov. Because if I was a 21 year old, in a foreign country, homesick, and someone waved a big bag of money under my nose and told me I could come home and be a star, I’m not sure what I would do.

Quincunx.

I think I understand this quincunx. You have your first base, second base, third and then home base with a pitcher in the middle more or less. There it is. Quincunx. Kinda offish spelling but we always used x’s too when we weren’t real clear on the right spelling.
This quincunx could also be like those teaching blocks they use over at the high school too except they go all the way to ten.

And if you only have 2 trees, it’s a twincunx.

Thanks to Pirates owner Bob Nutting, the Baldwin girls softball team will get to compete in a tournament in South Carolina even after the airline they planned to use folded abruptly last week.

This was a no-brainer for the Pirates’ owner. Good for him.
