Newt and of course, Sarah Palin.

Why? since these 2 are most hated by the establishment because like Rush Limbaugh says, they do not want a conservative in power. he also said the current republican politicians and ther establishment republican media looks down on southerners, the Christians, the conservatives and that same bunch doesn't hold much regard for Ronald Reagan. I hope one day (like convention) the party is cleaned out if not-a couple of fine patriots like Newt and Sarah should begin a new conservative party so we can truly begin to save America from the radicals. It is very heartbreaking to review our history to see that we are heading backwards after all of the battles, lives lost and accomplishments. God Bless our troops and all service personnel.

#1, of course, would be Sarah -- IF she were running. I wouldn't mind drafting her, unless she did that "If nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve" bit (which she is perfectly within her rights to do).

Of the GOP nominees, Newt's my top choice, then Rick, then (if absolutely necessary) Mitt. Thing is, I live in a very purple Iowa, so sitting at home and voting downticket only is not an option -- at least, not for me.

Only eight miles over, and across the river, is Illinois, which the Empty Suit has pretty well bought and paid for. If I did live there, I could vote for, as one cartoon character once said, "a prom date on the moon with Santa Claus" and get as much, or more, mileage than I might expect to get from Mitt.

Strike that ... Newt, Paul, Rick, Mitt. There’s the order.

I’d have to hold my nose to vote for the current crop, I’d have preferred Rep. Allen West. Cain was a big disappointment.

My ideal presidential candidate at this time:

1. Vietnam vet- preferably a man who actually killed some some of our enemies with bullet or blade, who truly understands what he would order soldiers into.

2. Someone who isn’t a trimmer who tries to tell people what they want to hear. The truth may suck, but it is still the truth, and should be told.

3. Someone who would abolish the Federal Department of Education immediately.

4. Someone who would either reinstate DADT or abolish the homos from the military altogether.

5. Someone who would enforce DOMA.

6. Someone who thinks that gun control is at best dangerous nonsense and at worst a huge attack on fundamental liberties, and would not only veto gun control bills but would sign repeals of every Federal firearms law going all the way back to the NFA of 1934.

7. Someone that recognizes the New Deal and Johnson’s Great Society as the failures they are, and does his best to undo them.

8. Someone who thinks atheists are commies, and believes that a Judeo-Christian normative society is the best one.

9. I would prefer a governor of a state, former military officer, over the head of a corporation. I would take any of the above over a legislator.

10. Someone who understands that government debt is a bad thing, and instead of foolishly raising revenue, cuts spending.

I know of no one like that now running. I’d settle for Newt, Santorum, or even Ruin Paul. Romney’s not acceptable- he governed like a Democrat, and nothing he says or will say can convince me he would not do so as President.

Every single Republican is a better option than Obama, and I would vote for Mr. Potato Head before voting for any Lying Liberal Socialist Democrat!
