Trayvon suspended over marijuana; thousands expected at rally

Miami Gardens teenager Trayvon Martin was suspended from school because he was caught with an empty plastic bag with traces of marijuana in it, the boy’s family attorney has confirmed.

Trayvon was killed while serving out the suspension in Sanford Florida, where his father’s girlfriend lives. A community watch volunteer who thought he looked drugged out and suspicious called police and later wound up in a fight with him.

The two scuffled and volunteer George Zimmerman shot Trayvon, killing him. He has not been charged.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to converge on Sanford on Monday for an afternoon rally to protest the killing, which occurred one month ago today.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, the Rev. Al Sharpton and comedian Sinbad are expected to speak at a 5 p.m. special City Commission meeting.

Several busloads of protesters left Miami early Monday to participate.

Thank you so much for posting these current photos of Zimmerman and Martin. Apperances/perception matters..... and the media is doing such a injustice to Zimmerman by posting a mugshot of him at 21 years old when he’s almost 30 now.

I agree but the family appears to me to be going beyond grief ....I could even understand trying to cover for your son....but this 'Trademark" nonesense tells me there's people working on this behind the scenes to make it a money maker and a show....and the family is agreeing to it.

Next we'll be hearing about a movie...book deals etc.

Attempted assault on bus driver 5 days prior to attacking Zimmerman according to his own brother.

Attacked Zimmerman as he was returning to his vehicle, breaking his nose and repeatedly slamming his head into the ground as Zimmerman screamed for help according to witness.

Whether or not the Martin kid was an addict or his family codependent with that addiction, the addict-codependent symptoms of denial and blaming others are on full display in this situation with all the outside forces involved.

FR has a great “media” because we bring it all together here...argue and debate about what’s false and true...and in the end WE HAVE THE TRUTH!

At the very least we show both sides and an individual can draw their own conclusions.

I will fight for Zimmermans right...and it is a leagal right...of innocence til proven otherwise.

What the press, politicians, and those protesting are doing is showing us all....will our laws prevail or not...sadly Zimmermans life is forever changed regardless of the outcome.

As it has been explained to me, by armed security guards (Baretta security in this case), the guns are more for defensive purposes, than offensive. Arrests are still made by the local police, in general.

But, off-hand, that may not apply to some sites, like Congress or the Smithsonian or something.

Does appear this is what's coming out now...and none too soon.....How long before we hear the warning/threat of “riots occurring” were Zimmerman found not guilty?
