Made from Genetically Modified Bacteria Waste, Aspartame Risks Public Health

Aspartame is an addictive substance. Most people who consume diet sodas regularly soon develop a craving for it. This is because of aspartame’s addictive quality. Soon after consuming the ingredient on a normal basis, many people find themselves unable to kick the habit. - snip-Aspartame, essentially, feeds cancer cells. If this weren’t enough to convince you to drop the diet soda habit, the process by which aspartame is made involves a highly toxic and volatile and genetically engineered form of bacteria waste — hardly something that would be considered safe by a reasonable standard.

A few years back I happened upon a documentary called Sweet Misery and watched it several times. I have since purchased one of those devices that lets you make your own seltzer water. It turns out it is the bubbles that I liked more than the sweetened syrup in sodas. I squeeze fresh lemon/lime, grapefruit, orange, or other juices into it or drink it plain. It is a lot healthier for you.

I agree about the seltzer. My husband ordered a beautiful aluminum charger with CO2 cartidges as a gift for me, and it’s very refreshing.

We are now buying drinks sweetened with Stevia and using raw stevia in our tea.

Stevia is the only sweetener I have found to be safe, that is until the government finds other wise. Will depend on which lobbyist has the most money I guess ?

Was there another source of caffeine in your life? If not that’s probably where the headaches came from. Caffeine breaks down in your liver into all kinds of neat stuff, many of which are used in their “pure” form to treat breathing ailments like asthma and emphysema. Cutting caffeine out causes your oxygen level to drop, which your body finds scary and punishes you.

This is absolutely true, that aspartame, and all the other names they have now come up with for it - because it has gotten a bad reputation, justifiably, - is terribly bad for you and addictive.

I say that because I have heard talk radio interview with a real crusader on the use of it. Her name is Dr Betty Martini - medical doctor.

A (Startpage is what I use - user friendly) search on her name gives an impressive list of information.

What I recall is that she and her husband were going to retire but when she found out about this horror show, she began investigating and then began a crusade against it - to educate the public.

There are other names they now use for it - to hide the fact that it is in things. Sorry to say, I have seen that the sweetener in Rush’s Tea is this. I have not sent him an email about it since I figure he wont read it and doesnt want to hear it.

Yes, the way it got approved by the goverment was something Rumsfeld pulled sneaky. For profit.

IMO - with the best health and welfare in mind for all good Freepers !
