I actually know a couple of women like that-one of them still sells her paintings on the sidewalk in front of an antique shop in one of the tourist traps just outside Kerrville-she’s been flitting around the area for the last 35 years at least, latching onto men for support. She shares a bed sometimes with the (married) owner of the antique shop, who is also an old hippie earthwatcher type-or at least she did when I last saw her about a year ago.
