The Total Recall (2012) trailer hit the internet today featuring Farrell, Kate Beckinsdale, Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston. Heres the synopsis, according to IMDB: As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that hes a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight hes on. The movie is based on the Philip K. Dicks short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, which was turned into a movie in 1990 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, and Michael Ironside.

Kate Beckinsdale and Jessica Biel, Wow. What a combo.
My wife and I were talking about this the other night. Talk about a movie that did NOT need to be remade.
I had to go to the actual article to find out that “Ferrell” is Colin Ferrell, not “Will Ferrell”. Will Ferrell didn’t seem like a match for the “Total Recall” story.
I own that movie on VHS and DVD (the original). I didn’t realize until the third watching that he was actually living in the Recall implants. The story, the people, everything matched the “vacation” he ordered.
A sequel or remake might be fun.
I won’t be seeing anything that comes out of Horrorwood. I won’t give one penny to liberals no matter what it is. They hate conservatives so they don’t need my money.
Wow. Srs, going through life with so much hatred is going to take years off your life so the libs are going to win.
I really liked the story but the execution of the original movie was kinda cheesy. I just saw the preview to this one. If they use modern effects and better acting than the former governor, this should be fantastic. The preview promises just that.
Read the short story about a year ago. Recall it being much less action, but more layers of complication of reality/memory. Gotta dig it out again, then watch the first movie. Seems a remake could be worthwhile, given a truer adherence to the story and use of vastly superior special effects.
Yet you take the time out of your day to make self righteous proclamations. Odd.
Arnie was just too...massive...for the first one. Colin Ferrell seems a better choice, more ‘normal guy in great shape’ than ‘Mr. Universe playing a normal guy’.
There’s plenty of room for the new version to take the story in its own direction. Might even get me in a theater for the big screen experience.
I was sure that the headline referred to 0bamaCare. Total Recall in 2012 would be a good start.
“I own that movie on VHS and DVD (the original). I didnt realize until the third watching that he was actually living in the Recall implants. The story, the people, everything matched the vacation he ordered”
Actually, I thought the movie left it somewhat ambiguous as to whether he was living the implants or not, which I distinctly enjoyed.
So you consider an conservative opinion self righteous
I just refuse to give my hard earned money to liberals. If others wish to do so then fine. Just don’t complain when they donate to obama.
Ambiguous ending is best. Just like _Blade_Runner_.
I had to look up who Ferrell was. I remember him most as the overtly religious cop in Minority report that got murdered. Great actor.
Some of us just find it curious someone who declares disinterest in a subject will take the time to click on an obviously disinteresting link, read the post, and go through the trouble of writing a declaration of disinterest (and further posts justifying it) which contradicts itself by its very existence.
Would somebody remake ‘Dune’ please?!
Dang right. Beckinsale in the Sharon Stone character. Very well done.
Would somebody remake ‘Dune’ please?!
no Mars?!
sad.
just an ex-wife tying to kill him. (where have we seen that before)
