The former vice presidential candidate told Fox Newss Sean Hannity on Tuesday that the Florida Republican would be a great choice for the 2012 ticket. She argued that the eventual presidential nominee shouldnt think they have to go with somebody necessarily safe.

Anyway, Palin said that she would never be "second dog" again because the "view never changes."
Picking Allen West is about the only way I can think of for them to get me to vote for Romney in the General election. (I will of course, not vote for Barack. My thinking was that if Romney is the nominee, i’ll just stay home.)
If Romney is the nominee, and if he picks Allen West to be VP, then we will once again have a condition where the better man is in the second slot. (Cheney Bush was the previous example.)
I don’t know why Palin would wish to curse Allen West with Mitt Romney. But I would willingly work to my last resource to back a Palin-West candidacy.
Yep from West to Rubio and others and no doubt that the party will be unified once the nomination is settled.
....Palin also called Florida Sen. Marco Rubio great and said the party has a wonderful bench of options for the eventual vice presidential pick.
....Thank God, I have no doubt in my mind, Palin said. No question, it will be unified.

“No way, no how Romney would ever choose Palin as his VP running mate...since it was his minions that first set out to destroy her very early in September 2008.”
-
I totally agree that it was Romney’s cadre which sabotaged Palin in 2008 - incidentally resulting in Obama’s winning.
However I see no reason why having been previous complete political opponents, precludes working together for the good of our beloved country.
None whatsoever.
Both Palin and Romney are professionals. Both are winners. They’re opposites, yet Palin would completely energize the GOP base and complement Romney by solidifying his credentials.
I’ll have to agree with McCain on this.
(seems like he ends up being right about something once, just about every 4 years.)
I’d be really cool with the West choice.
We need a military man on the ticket to balance Romney’s lack of military participation. We also need someone with testicles. West has both (or all three). He also has some legislative experience now.
He’d be an awesome choice, and I believe, better than Rubio. Newt should be retained in some manner, if he were not to obtain the nomination through a brokered convention. We need Newt’s brain in there.
I doubt Mama Babs Bush would approve of Palin as a VP choice. Mama Babs just wants Palin to “go back to Alaska.”
A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.
Um, isn't the discussion about Palin saying Romney should pick West? - NOT about Romney picking Palin? Just wondering.....
Everything you said is right on the money. I’d add that a West inclusion on the ticket would bring some measure of increased black support - which even if it were a percent or two - could make a huge difference in some states like Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, etc, not to mention the national raw vote which is important after the election in determining momentum, mandates, lack thereof, etc....
I would love to see West as VP, I will vote for Romney regardless.
Republican Candidates could improve their Primary vote count by campaigning with the following idea:
Due to the FHA, Fannie and Freddie Bankruptcies of September, 2008, American home owners lost 30 % of the value of their homes. That is a 30 % cut in just one month. Home values are still down 30 %.
Thus, let us cut the total compensation to all elected Federal politicians, and their staffs by 30 %, and an additional 10 % cut to elected Federal politicians each year until Federal Spending is LESS THAN the average of the previous 2 years of Federal income.
BTW, since slightly less than half of the US House, and 2/3 of the US Senate are Millionaires, it will be a great opportunity for Congress to lead by example that EVERYONE should give up their fair share of the American Dream.
What better way can there be to demonstrate that Federal politicians are on the same page as the voters?
Romney is not going to pick a first term congressman for VP. It’s just not going to happen. And wait, weren’t people calling Allen West a tea party traitor just a few months ago for supporting the debt deal? I recall reading an awful lot of “he’s dead to me” posts. Have the fickle conservative forum masses allowed him out from under the bus yet?
A lot of people around here fire quickly with the “he’s dead to me” rants over one particular vote or issue - without knowing the nuances of the legislation or other realities. I don’t pay any attention to such rants. Quite often legislation is misleading and quite often certain people vote certain ways knowing the outcome is already decided and they are laying groundwork for battles they can win later on. But purists don’t have the ability to deal with reality like that.
West is not perfect, but he’s damned good and I’d think better of the GOP ticket with him on it than I would most other options.
Yeah, I was kinda kidding about that. I'm aware of just what type of person you are talking about - the purists who don't grasp political realities and wind themselves into temper tantrums then throw people under the bus without a second thought. Fortunately, their spasms of unreasonableness tend to fade with time.
West is not perfect, but hes damned good and Id think better of the GOP ticket with him on it than I would most other options.
I think Allen West is great, but he's still just a 1 term congressmen. That just isn't enough political experience yet to be a realistic VP consideration. If he stays in the game and becomes more politically seasoned, he will undoubtedly be on someone's short list in 2016, 2020 and beyond.
You can find a way to rationalize almost anything if you try hard enough. Plenty of people on here have already convinced themselves to vote for one of the founding fathers of American socialized medicine in the name of conservatism.
Allen West would roll over like any other Republican if the establishment told him to. The debt ceiling deal is proof. I can’t speak for the rest of the base, but he wouldn’t do much for me.
Had Palin not been involved, McCain would have lost by a much wider margin and the RNC might have learned it’s lesson. A devestating loss 4 years ago would have shown the party that is is nothing without conservatives and we would not be in the position now of choosing between two fascists.
I agree. I am fast approaching the conclusion that the Democrat enablers on our side are a greater threat to us than are the Democrats themselves!
