To: Lonesome in Massachussets

“You mean in all 57 states, there are only 58 National Parks?”

Barry: “Err, umm... That’s all? Err, umm... Well under my Administration we need to add additional parks to all 57 states so there WILL be 100 National Parks. Err, umm... That doesn’t add up. Err, umm... Let me get back with you. Meanwhile STOP the Republicans from closing those parks no matter what they add up to. O.K.?”

Actually, there are 379 “sites”, like Minuteman National Historic Park run by the National Park Service, but not a “National Park”. If he had said National Park Service sites, he might not be talking total smack. A lot of them, like the Lowell National Historical Park could disappear without anyone other than the immediate families of the employees even noticing.
