Just getting back to FreeRepublic. I have a German Pinscher who was rescued from a Missouri Puppy Mill when he was a puppy. The state had shut the puppy mill down. He is 6+ years now.

I just got a Boston Terrier male puppy who is now 17 weeks old. The people I got him from had bought him and his sister from a breeder and decided they did not have time for them after all. Someone else got the female and I got the male. Anyhow this is my first time having this breed of dog and they are an outstanding breed of dog. Very smart (very quick learners). I have had the male for only 1 week and he was not feeling well for at least 1/2 of the week. The people that had him did not take care of him very well and they did not work with him at all. At first I felt like I was dealing with a 8 week old puppy when he really was 16 weeks old because he has had no training or guidance while the other people had him.

He learned quickly how to climb up my 14 stairs after just helping him 2 times. He learned how to sit after showing him how to do it about 10 times, same with lay down. He also has mastered going down the all the stairs in the last 2 days. (split level home) I never knew this breed was so easy to train.

He is feeling better now and I can hold his attention now since he is feeling better. He is almost pee/poop pad trained and I hope to have him fully house trained within 1 to 2 weeks.

If you are going to get a dog... seriously look into a Boston Terrier. There are tons of videos on You Tube of Boston Terriers that show you what a great breed of dog they are. Males can top out at about 25 lbs if they are on the large bone side.

My little boston is a Red/Brown Brindle with light brown almost golden eyes. He looks almost exactly like this one except the white stripe on his face is very narrow. This one has a wide white stripe but the eyes are just like the one I have now.

Congratulations on your GP rescue!

I’m glad your BT is doing well but I’m a Dobermann person.
There’s no other breed for me.

I’ve met some BTs and think they’re great little dogs but I refuse to support the whole brachycephalia thing.

Good job on getting him well again and trained.

I wish you many happy, healthy years with your pups..:)
