I don’t claim to understand the frame of mind George Zimmerman was in when he fired his weapon

Zimmerman claims Martin went for Zimmerman's gun. We don't know who's fingerprint is on the trigger.

We don't know who's fingerprint is on the trigger.

Zimmermann's fingerprint(s) could be there from previous use of the gun.

However, if Martin's fingerprint(s) is/are on the gun, we can conclude that they were struggling over possession of the gun. That's the best we can do for lack of additional evidence.
