Does anybody else find it slightly amusing in a sad sort of way that our culture does everything to promote sex at the youngest age possible and the School System teaches Sex Education at an early age and passes out free birth control and condomss....but then everybody goes ape-sh*t when the kids actually take them up on the offer?

You summed it up perfectly, well said.

Also consider this:

"The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws"

~~Ayn Rand

Figure it's two more in the "system"

I’ll go with the sad part. have we not read stories of condoms being offered out in middle schools? I don’t condone what they did but to me this is something for the parents to handle. Besides much about laws regarding ages of consent for anything are well, awkward for lack of a better word. Everyone grows up at a different pace. This young girl may pass for 15. Not saying he didn’t know her age but she could be much more physically mature than another 12 year old. Theres no magic formula for how we develop.

Yeah, it's almost like they're trying to deliberately create a massive social crisis and incarcerate as many children as possible while criminalizing the educational environment.

Nah, that's just crazy.

I'm not so sure we can pin it on sex-ed. When I was in 7th to 9th grade (12-14 y.o.), I remember kids that were openly interested in sex and bragged about it. Especially the girls. The pretty girls typically had boyfriends that were several years older. By the last year in high school, just about everyone was having sex.

Our sex-ed was very tame, maybe a few hours total per year and basically consisted of “if you mix bodily fluids, you will get aids and die a horrible death”. We didn't have condom demos or any graphic descriptions. Condoms, pills, etc were mentioned in the 11th grade, but nothing graphic.

We also didn't have internet porn. A few kids might have had a magazine or VHS, but it was nothing compared to now. I think kids around that age always have been interested in sex. I remember when I was only 9 and trying to figure it out by reading science books at the library.

The difference today is our lack of discipline that makes them think it's OK to do it in school. Also, it is much more common now for kids to be home without any supervision so the chances for them to have sex are much greater. Then again, when I was that young it wasn't uncommon for kids to go into the woods to “get busy”.
