Ever since he spontaneously crooned a few notes of Al Green at a fund-raiser earlier this year, Americans have been waiting for President Obama to burst out into song once again. In an appearance on "The Late Show" Tuesday night, the commander in chief did the second-best thing: He "slow jammed" the news with Jimmy Fallon.
The appearance, taped at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, represented the media-savvy Obama family's latest foray into late-night television. First Lady Michelle has been especially ubiquitous lately, including a fitness challenge with Fallon and her gentle ribbing of Stephen Colbert. Fallon has a devoted following among college students, and so the president wisely used the "slow jam" performance to plug his proposal for freezing Stafford student loan interest rates.
Alas, Obama mostly played the straight man, soberly critiquing Republican opposition to his plan. "They say we should be doing everything we can to pay down the national debt. Well, so long as it doesn’t include taxing billionaires," he said (rather than sang).

Comments like “This is why I love Obama so much!”. I'd be paralyzed with embarrassment if I ever made a statement like that. They truly idolize this guy, have romantic feelings for him, and their support is based on him being “cool”.
Some of my fellow Americans have become appallingly stupid and aren't even ashamed of it. Sad times indeed.

The Obamas and their friends in the news media live in Fantasyland.
We were just at the Reagan Library and had tears in our eyes listening to his speeches and realizing how much this country has changed.
I need to go there next time I get out to CA. It brings tears to my eyes too. And I`m sure President Reagan would be disgusted and saddened too at the rapid decline of this country.
