When Stargate Universe was canceled a few seasons ago, it marked the end of a beloved franchise that had been on the air in some form or another for well over a decade. Now rumor has it that Stargate may not be as dead as we thought.
Gateworld is reporting a rumor that something is in the works to revive the show, though the medium and details are still a little fuzzy.

Its a good night. Eureka and Top Gear.
An SGU movie or 4 hour mini-series to wrap it up would be a nice start.
I was really kinda getting in Stargate Universe and then those b-tards cancelled it.
I was really intruiged about the “machine ships” that were attacking the destiny and what happened to the “time paradox” crew that had settled and created a civilisation and had somehow vanished. I wanted to know how the machines ships were connected to them. Also the culture of the people was quite interesting too.
I wouldn’t mind a mini-series to tie up loose ends. I loved the actors involved too, except for a few.
Given the choioce though I wish they had continued Atlantis for a few more seasons instead of starting universe.
Universe was fine, but I really enjoyed Atlantis, it was a very fun series and I loved Rodney McKay and John Sheppard and really liked when they added Robert Picardo to the cast.
Could get Stargate to transport to FarScape and clean up that story line series, too.
Maybe BBC will buy the franchise and return it to its glory.
Worst case scenario, the National Geographic Channel buys it and makes it a documentary with the Ancient Aliens guy.
Don’t forget Hammond’s Crash Course. Trying out the big fire trucks in Dallas.
I feel like a 5 year old in the sandbox watching his show.
Clarkson, Hammond, and May really have great on camera chemistry.
Last weeks episode is starting now. Hammond in a Sprint Cup car.
[ Worst case scenario, the National Geographic Channel buys it and makes it a documentary with the Ancient Aliens guy.]
Worst case? Stargate is ALL ABOUT ANCIENT ALIENS!!!
Ancient aliesn called the Asguard, the Goa’uld, The Nox and Furlings(never saw them yet).
Not to Mention the “Ancients” that looked just like humans!!!
I would say they could bring on Georgio Tsoukolas as a team member on Atlantis and him in his wild hair would be awesome arguing with Rodney McKay and Samantha Carter!
It would be Epic, I’m not sayign it would be Aliens, but it was.....
ALIENS!!!
I wasn’t clear about that one either, that is true
I don’t deny it would be epic if it were fiction, but the point of NG buying it and passing it off as fact like they do have the ancient-ghost-yeti-alien crap is almost as bad as SeeFee channel now showing wraslin.
Ben Browder and Claudia Black could do double duty. LOL!
Messy crossovers. Not for fanfic or comic book novels anymore . . .
Good catch!
Another episode could settle the plot twists and decide the coming war against the weapons built by 'the machine ships'
It's a brilliant fool proof program. Take two more bites out of the magic Stargate apple that has fed thousands of everyday actors, production, special effects and make-up people. It's a no brainer to put these projects forward.
Not that it would get me to watch wrestling, but that wrestler who had a multi-episode part in Sanctuary also turned up on Haven, where he wasn’t bad and had an interesting character. (His Sanctuary character was a large Abnormal who could beat people up, so essentially typecasting.)
Maybe it's Stargate: Wrestlemania
Ronon vs the Wraith Avenger
Teal'c vs Ori demigod
Tagteam: SG-1/Atlantis Team vs the Replicators
Samantha Carter vs Vala Mal Doran (I'd pay money for that!)
Picardo, as an actor, was a great addition. And Woolsey was a character that genuinely grew over the years he appeared on the different Stargates, making him actually a logical choice to replace Col. Carter. He was much less annoying than his initial appearances (but the same could be said for McKay -- you can't have the regulars *that* annoying and expect people to keep watching them or liking them.)
Personally sgu was my favorite of all the stargate series.
