Right before the moon comes up you get that green flash. It looks to me to be the beginning of the moon rise. I thought it would be a horizontal thing, but to me it looks contained in the area where the moon comes up.

Thank you for the tip. Next time I’m where I can see the horizon, I’ll look for it again. It seems that there must be a confluence of several different ideal conditions. Or maybe it is not my fate ever to see it.
