Those restrictions came right from Carter. Thanks for the link.
ansel is a one trick pony
http://www.rescueattempt.com is my site
ALL services were invited to try out
the Army sent their best Night Vision trained pilots to the site, and they were impressed with what the Mariens were doing, and told them outright that they were never doing what the Marines wanted them to try, it was not even thought of yet by them
the air force guys all refused to sleep in tents, they demanded to be kept in a hotel on a perdiem basis
NONE of the Army pilots who tried out made the cut
one Navy pilot made it
NONE of the air force made it
All branches of the military sent enlisted to the crew tryouts, too. Navy and Marine made it, but not all the crews that were at yuma training.. one Army guy stood up and peed on a table inside a bar, he was gone the next day.
The Crew Chief of the last Bluebird aircraft to land with the bad hydraulic system told me he heard Beckwith refuse to put his men on an aircraft that was not 100% even though the pilot insisted he was capable to fly
general Vaught told me and one other Marine who was at Desert One , to my face, at breakfast April 26, 2010, that Beckwith was afraid to fly in helicopters and that what I was told by the crew chief was correct.
I have met with , dined with, and correspond reularly with men from the mission, and several of the former hostages know me by name and greet me when they see me with a firm handshake and a smile. one is a boyhood friend of a mutual friend.
Don’t listen to ansel. he repeats what formal stories are, he knows nothing of the real stories.
he also must have been frightened by a Marine at some point in his life. All he is out to do is trash the Marine Corps for things he never had the nerve to do himself.
