I really hate the school testing systems they have in Texas - the teachers are forced to teach to the test instead of just teach. It has been this way for at least 20 years and is hurting the kids tremendously.

Congrats to your son and daughter in law - I loved being able to homeschool and Texas makes it easy!

I don’t buy that excuse from the professional educators. Teaching so that the students can pass the tests is the *minimum* they should be doing.

Had the industry performed with a bit of sense for teaching the basics instead of the latest fad in ed school, they wouldn’t be in the situation they are.

Our daughter is giving up teaching for now. She just can't take the little brats anymore. Her new hubby got another job in Kansas, so they will be moving in June.
