Jim Ready reportedly is a surfing enthusiast(yeah, right!). The two previously met during a Maine fundraiser.

Ready dominated news in 2010 after a pair of ophthalmologists started to heckle Frank on a airline flight. Frank didn’t comment. Frank told the Boston Globe at the time that Ready, however, had a few words for the passengers.

Frank told news “They wanted to talk to me, but I apologized and said I like to read and watch on planes”. He added “They began to talk louder and that’s when Jimmy (Ready) said, ‘If you’re trying to be bitchy, you’re doing a good job.”

Frank met Ready in 2005 at a political fundraiser in Maine, and they began a relationship in January 2007 after the death of Ready’s partner.

Speaking to the Washington Blade recently, Jim Ready recalled how the Congressman first caught his eye when he came out as gay in 1987, after his partner was arrested for prostitution.

71-year old Barney told the media this week that it’s the first time in his long life that he’s ever been in love. There’s an old Italian adage which says, “An old man in love is like a rose in winter.”
