"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

It sounds like a really good lineup, Vision! I figured he would do a patriotic themed show for Memorial Day, but this looks to be a nice set of programs. I see the Hollywood Radio Theatre is actually Lux.

Hi Gina, I'm also surprised about no Memorial Day shows. He'll probably run something in between.

How's everything? I've got two racks of ribs finishing up on pecan and apple wood.

BB’s the best.

Life's good. The week went quickly. I stained the back fence (one side of it) today and it's looking nice. The sun stayed out so fingers crossed I get past the 24 hour mark before rain.

How was your week?

You’ve been productive! And, the ribs sound great! We’re getting ready to do some “country style” beef ribs.

It’s been hotter than blazes here, and no rain. We’re getting back to really needing rain. We’ve been super busy. Keith is finally taking today and tomorrow off after not having a day off in several weeks. I’ve been right there with him, except not as much outdoor work between my part-time radio job and writing.

I “cheated” again and have been soaking them in some KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki marinade.

Besides sweet potatoes (or russets, depending on what we decide), we also have some eggplant from our garden I may cut in big pieces and put on the grill, too, and baste them in grape seed oil, butter and garlic.

Thanks for posting! With SiriusXm’s Radio Classics I’ve fallen for those shows — LOVE Bob Bailey as Dollar and Jack Webb in anything. Glad Radio Classics is now on Sirius XM Internet radio too.

Hi, Doc! Boy-howdy, do I love rain! I’m glad you’re getting some, at least!

Great picture of the Man Called X!

Rain water is the best water for the grass and plants—everything really. Beats the tar out of chemicalized city water.
