"Bath Salts" Really?

Posted on 05/29/2012 5:19:33 PM PDT by TexasSecede79366

Soo! This guy chewed off another guys face because of "Bath Salts"?

"Calgon Bouquet" could become a deadly weapon? I don't think so but I do think it is a political control event.

It sounds like you were far more cautious and informed than most of those that I see. There are health risks related to the long term use of almost any medicine or drug and also poor diet choices.

A lot of times there are discussions here and other places about marijuana vs alcohol and the war on drugs. It is too bad that our educational institutions have done such a poor job on the war on ignorance. That is the real problem. People make all sorts of bad decisions trying to find easy ways to make themselves feel good.

My favorite teacher in high school in the seventies also worked as a drug counselor. He said that sleep was the “ultimate high” You become relaxed and unconscous, you halucinate, and when you wake up you feel refreshed and there are no bad side effects.

So thank you again for sharing your experience and knowledge about a subject many here know little about. The level of knowledge about the risks of the long term use of even widely used substances is abysmal. Congratulations also on finding a more natural and healthy way to make yourself feel good.

Your wife has more detailed knowledge than I do about what has actually caused psychotic behaiviors in her patients. I have seen a number of persons who were having bizare psychotic epeisodes they have often come in waves which made us think that something bad was on the streets. A lot of them flip out completely when they get to jail.

I went to a prisoner once who had been running down a busy arterial naked in the middle of the winter bashing cars with a big stick. After he was taken to jail he started beating his head against the bars on his cell. He was quite a sight with blood all over his face when we got their. My crew and I had just finished cleaning him up and getting him calmed down, when one of the jailers looked at him the wrong way and he went beserk again. He jumped up and sank his teeth into the arm of the guy and it took six guards to get him off of the other guy.

All of are efforts had been for nothing. His head was bleeding all over the place again; he had blood in his mouth from the other guy. He was spitting on everyone. He was screaming a very creative stream of obscenities mostly relating to what he was going to do to our mothers etc. We got him strapped in the restraint chair covered his face with a mask. With the pandemonium it truly was a scene from Silence of the Lambs.

Other than a little facial cannibalism, Urban Beach Weekend was apparently a big success. Only 373 arrests as opposed to 431 last year, and only 14% of the arrests were for felonies!

Urban Beach Weekend Arrest Breakdown: 68% Black Males, 35% Locals, Only 14% Felonies

This is the core reason the WOD cannot ever succeed. People who really want to get high will, if they can’t get a hold of the “normal” stuff they’ll find something. Licking toads, bath salts, whippets, paint. Even if all the regular stuff completely disappears from within our border folks will still find a way to screw up their lives.

PCP is an animal tranquilizer vets use...with psychoactive properties

LSD is a powerful hallucinogenic developed in the 50s by Albert Hoffman and Sandoz.

Besides the baby boom, it is largely responsible for the cultural upheaval foisted by middle and upper middle class white kids in the West from 1963-1980 and on

I took it quite a bit. And we were fairly serious about what that entailed. It can be very scary and though I have sharp mixed feelings over my own use I strongly do NOT recommend it to anyone not prepared.

And being prepared has not much to do with intellect or maturity.

It’s more about having a resilient psyche...sounds like fun eh? (s)

LSD’s cousins are psylocibin mushrooms and peyote....the latter being a superior trip agent in my view that LSD or mushrooms.

I never had a habit...LSD is not habit forming ...quite the contrary. I simply outgrew a desire to alter my states. The usual culprits...maturity...kids...bills...a woman on my arm..

the last being by far the best intoxicant made for man...no question...the warm glow and touch of a beautiful woman dwarfs the best dope buzz

Alcohol’s effects aren’t that universal. Not only do different people have different reactions, different types, because of the side chemicals, strengths, and rates of ingestion, create different effects in the same person. That’s where the old line “gin makes a man mean” comes from. My wife tends to be highly irritable with tequila but not with anything else. Anything carbonated (beer, champagne) hits the bloodstream faster so you have a more abrupt run, though with the low level of alcohol in beer it’s generally the easiest to control your level of intoxication.

Drugs are just like alcohol, sought by people who want reality “tweaked” a bit, and no two people have the exact same experience.

My ER wife, says it she sees "Bath Salts" behavior, she immediately calls security. She can handle psychotics, alcoholics, the usual folks high on drugs. But these folks she does not mess around with.

She says these are like people on PCP only sometimes they don't come down.

I've watched Jail and I can just imagine what its like with these folks. How to spot them quickly will be the key.

Actually, it's about having the right genes, no hidden medical defects and not overdosing. Every drug has it's risks. Even anesthetics will kill a certain percentage of the time.

The risk is always that you may not come through or come out altered.
