I’m not proud of it but I have tried a few of these bath salts in the past. I’ve read the horror stories of people losing control and acting violent. While they may be chemically similar to meth, the high is nothing like it.
It’s more like ecstasy, all you really do is sit there smoking cigarettes and watching you-tube videos.
It does eliminate the need to sleep and eat, so maybe the people who lose their minds on the stuff have been up doing it for days or mixing it with other narcotics.
But I do know some people react differently to drugs.

I think a lot of the publicity it has gotten is similar to the LSD propaganda in the 60’s/70’s,e.g staring at the sun till blind, babysitters putting babies in the oven

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have come into contact with a lot of drug users over the years. We usually are not able to determine what is causing their problem as first responders. As you say... some of the people who are violent may be mixing drugs and alcohol, not have a clue about the dosages or mixtures of substances they are taking, suffering from problems from long term usage, or maybe they had violent tendencies to begin with.

Taking drugs for recreation seems to be a dangerous past time. Look at the problems thought to be caused by long term use of the latest teen sensation “lean”, typically a mixture of Arizona Iced Tea Co. watermelon fruit juice cocktail, Skittles, and Robitussin DM or other cough syrups. There are a number of recipes involved. It sounds relatively harmless but people have overdosed and died, and long term use seems to be associated with paranoid and violent behavior.
