I was out at Scripps bodysurfing one day. It started out at about 4’ (6’ face for the nonsurfers), which is pretty descent sized for bodysurfing. Some sort of current swell came in and there were about 30 of us stuck in the mixer with 20’ faces and it seemed liked 15 second intervals. Surprised I am still here after that one.
Can’t claim anything that large in Santa Cruz, but I’ve been out when I shouldnt’ve been - during short period storm swells - and have never been more certain I was finished on a couple of occasions.
