An emotional Christian Bale visibly fought back tears at the MTV Movie Awards last night after a video was shown of the first two Dark Knight movies with scenes that featured the late Heath Ledger. Bale and Ledger became good friends during the making of Dark Knight, the first of three Christopher Nolan directed Batman movies starring Bale in the title role and ledger as The Joker. The Golden Globe winner broke down while he, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman introduced the montage, which included scenes of Ledger in the 2008 film, the second in the Dark Knight trilogy.

Ledger was a very talented young man. I thought he was very moving in The Patriot. Very sad to lose him at such a young age.
Agreed ... great actor. Even in the corny, yet watchable, A Knight’s Tale. Excellent in The Patriot and DK.
But I avoided that other film he did about flaming cowboys.
A very disturbed deviant leaves the world a more degraded place after his marketing of such a disgusting and disease-ridden lifestyle.
Okla-Homo? Bareback Mountain?
All I remembered was right after Monster’s Ball, he went nuts and started going to these so-called ‘anti-war’ protests and started bitching about America and it’s eviiil ways. Excellent as the Joker but the rest of his resume including playing that fag cowboy, I didn’t really care for.
I don’t know how great of friends they could have been. I read Bale didn’t even bother to attend the funeral.
What is the Dark Knight trilogy? I thought there was only one movie called “The Dark Knight”, and that Ledger played the part of the Joker in only that one movie. There have been numerous Batman movies, but only one Dark Knight, to my knowledge.
Good grief. These celebs will do anything for publicity including tearing up for the camera over someone who brought on his own death 4-5 years ago. Agreed, he was good in some movies but that disgusting Brokeback one was the end of it imo.
By “Dark Knight” trilogy, they mean all 3 Christopher Nolan Batman movies. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises.
How long are they going to bore us with boo hoo’s over that poofter putz?
OH SWEET!!!! DC Animation Studios will make “The Dark Knight Returns” (based upon the 1986 comic book). Part one is Fall 2012.
