Why is he out promoting graphic pictures? That’s not right or shows that he’s sane. If he was in view of my house, I’d insist he be arrested...esp. if there are children around. He is NOT going to change minds by getting in peoples facing forcing his idea’s on people. He should peacefully get signatures from respectable places...then change the law. He’s only creating resentment! They are probably causing traffic accidents too.
If we can’t look at it then why are we permitting it? Yeah, they are gross, awful and disgusting, but they are true.
Thanks to CCBR for having the courage to SHOW THE TRUTH.
>>How about if I hold up graph of what it has done to the local economy then would that make people want rid of the clinic?<<
I’m SO with you there!!!!
And like I said, the graphic photos are just something, IMO, that make people hostile.
We are out with Yellow Balloons and candy. We have turned hearts.
“Hes only creating resentment!”
Let me ask you a question, Fawn. Was it folks like William Wilberforce creating resentment by revealing the conditions on the slave ships?
Or was it the people who enslaved men women and children creating resentment?
“We are out with Yellow Balloons and candy. We have turned hearts.”
So have they. They turned my heart and for that I am eternally grateful. :)
I agree. I don't want my kids seeing that stuff. There are better tactics.
We put graphic pictures of diseased organs on cigarette packages to deter people from smoking. Are the people in government who mandate these things not sane?
We show history students graphic images of Holocaust victims. Are schoolteachers therefore insane? Was Stephen Spielberg insane for making Schindler's List so graphic?
Student drivers are shown the graphic consequences of reckless or impaired driving. Are driving teachers and the police insane?
Of course not. We all recognize that there are situations when graphic, sometimes even gory, images are exactly the method of persuasion that is needed.
He should peacefully get signatures from respectable places...then change the law.
How do you know they aren't also doing this?
Hes only creating resentment!
He is also changing minds. Yes, the pictures are horrible. But the pictures are also true. If we are so upset by the horror in the pictures, why is it that we allow the horrible thing that they portray? I think the majority of Canadians are simply complacent about abortion; after all, we haven't had a law restricting it in nearly 25 years. Maybe a bloody fetus or two is just the kick in the pants some people need to start thinking about whether that's the Canada they want to live in.
>>So have they. They turned my heart and for that I am eternally grateful. :)<<
I’m so happy! It makes my heart glad.
However, I have had people tell me how nasty they feel those pictures are, even Pro-Lifers. Out in the public at fairs and on the street, I feel they are inappropriate. We should self-censor as to what will work where.
When we hand out candy and balloons to kids, parents are open to hearing our message.
Excellent post RansomOttawa. It is amazing how this one individual gets so outraged over the graphic image of murder rather than the murder itself.
That is how delusional the pro-abortion crowd has become. They actually think the moral high ground is to kill babies rather than focusing their efforts towards sexual responsibility and prevention.
I want to see these disgusting images everywhere until this mass murder is stopped.
Everyone needs to do what they feel comfortable doing. I agree, many will respond positively to your outreach, and we need folk doing what you do.
And yes, many people, including prolifers have expressed apprehension with the display. It’s understandable to any right thinking person that they would find the display revolting.
But, it’s the truth. The clinic down the street is going to fight as hard as possible to keep those images away from people, so that everytime they hear the word ‘abortion’, they will not associated it with dismembered babies.
Truth is not easy. If it were then we wouldn’t be dealing with these things.
“If we cant look at it then why are we permitting it? Yeah, they are gross, awful and disgusting, but they are true.”
damn right
>>Truth is not easy. If it were then we wouldnt be dealing with these things.<<
You are correct, the truth is hard.
But appropriateness is too.
Then don’t complain when someone has sex pictures displaying the same way...also defecating photos. Same thing...
You two aren’t thinking clearly. What they are doing is worse than what PETA does. You don’t go out in the public and display human disgusting photos or yell at people or follow them, or allow them to be seen by passing children and families.....you only turn people against you. That’s not the way to change peoples minds. Hand out education or other information in a sane peaceful way..and change the law.
So you have a problem with smoking cessation ads that do the same thing?
There’s a difference between promotion and detraction.
“You dont go out in the public and display human disgusting photos”
So what you are saying is that the photos are disgusting because they represent human remains?
“yell at people or follow them”
Clearly you’ve not been there. CCBR simply stands by the displays, and people walk by them. They do not yell at anybody, nor do they follow them.
If people do not want to see them, they can walk away.
“allow them to be seen by passing children and families”
Let me ask you a question. Do you think that an abortion doctor, doing an abortion behind closed doors is ok? He’s not forcing any children or families to see what he is doing.
If not, why not?
“Thats not the way to change peoples minds.”
They changed my mind on this issue, so I will respectfully assert that you are wrong. I know I’m not the only one either.
If you want to do things the way that you feel is appropriate, by all means.
If you’re going to trash prolifers, at least be sure to get the folks who are actually doing this particular campaign.

Here’s a segment on the campaign when it was being run in Calgary. You can see the trucks they use.

Here’s an excellent interview with the director of the project, Stephanie Gray.
