Christian is not synonymous with "sinless." Being ignorant of Christ precepts does not make people any less Christian, they are just ignorant and act upon a sinful nature. It's when you have NOT accepted Christ that sin separates you.
I'm just saying you are no less saved by grace if you think homosexuality is honorable than Peter, Paul or Matthew. However, the HS is going to have to deal with the consequence of sin and the church has every right to keep them out until they repent.
I see your point, but I say “bad” Christians are in Mortal sin and “separated” from God and will go to hell if they die in that state.
Saying “Bad” Christians are just the same as Christians in good-standing doesn’t make sense. Christians “knowingly doing evil acts” in such an abominable way—and yes, some sins are greater than others and acts of homosexuality are particularly grievous and disordered-—Those that are practicing in those evil acts are not practicing Christianity. As such—they are not practicing Christians. They are “CINO” which is like cafeteria Catholics-—the name doesn’t make them in a state of Grace and a member of the Body of Christ— if they reject the teachings and the practice as True. They should be excommunicated and by their very actions are separated from the Church. They should never be allowed communion until they repent which means they understand the evil of their sin. Then—I agree, they are like other Christians who will always sin, but understand their transgressions against God and always are sorry.
Practicing homosexuals are actively rejecting God and his commandments. Now, can they repent of their sin—absolutely, but they promise to try to sin no more—but if they do not even know sodomy acts are evil and disordered-—then, I would say they have no concept of Christianity—and can never be a practicing Christian.
