Sadly, had this happened at ANY other big-time NCAA football school, the same cover-up would have taken place, IMO.

And I mean ANY of them - LSU, Bama, USC, UNC, Michigan, Arkansas, Stanford, to name a few

Maybe so but I think the insular nature of Happy Valley and the king-like tenure of JoPa both played a role here.
