Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Federal Government can tax citizens because they exist, not because they earn income, but because they exist. There are no limits on the amount we can be taxed to exist.
We are all now officially slaves owned by and for the U.S. Federal Government.
If the Constitution was not a dead letter before today, it is now. There are no longer any constraints whatsoever on the power of the government as against the individual, nor does it recognize any.
We are indeed, for all intents and purposes, slaves of our government, to dispose of as they see fit.
And I for one will act as any slave would; they will only get the bare minimum out of me. It’s off to Galt’s Gulch.
Hope liberals are happy that they now live under Tyranny. They got what they wanted and I have no doubt they’ll be first to complain about it, most likely with anti-semitism like they always do.
I think I’ll vote for Zero; the sooner the country implodes and goes full CW2, the better.

F'in Roberts sided with the socialists, and allowed this to happen. He handed a big victory to Obama and the socialist 'RATs. I'm still stunned by that.
We MUST do everything possible to dump Obozo this November, add more conservative seats to the House, and take back the Senate. That's our only hope.

And as ALWAYS, the Republicans holding the contempt vote TODAY was idiotic.. No one will notice even if Holder IS held in contempt.. NONE of the dems will vote to hold him in contempt because the Obamacare high will cause them to avoid any negativity towards Obama.
In short, America died today.. Lady liberty got shot in the back the day Obama was elected and she's finally succumbed to her wounds. She is officially dead, but.. Americans will soon realize how great she was and wish she'd return.

The first thing I look for is a statement from Romney. What will this mealy mouth say now?

Sorry but you’re wasting your breath. Dems of Repubs, two sides of the same coin. Never, and I mean NEVER have the repubs reversed this march towards a fascist state but in fact they have gone right along with it. Who was it the put Roberts in the position he is in? Why a REPUBLICAN! What a surprise, GW Bush was a socialist just a little bit to the right of Obama, Mitt is a socialist that looks to be maybe a little bit to the LEFT of Obama. You expect him to turn things around?
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. All you guys that continue to think that the Republicans will do anything different than they have in the past are insane, pure and simple we are screwed and have been for quite some time.

Texas4ever’s post about states opting out. I skimmed quickly through Robert’s ruling. I think you are mistaken. The opt-out has nothing to do with the individual mandate, but with certain medicare provisions of Obamacare. Now, I’m not 100% sure because I had to make a quick read and I sure as hell wish you were right. If you have further analysis on this point, I’d like to hear it.
I do, however agree that the fact that it is deemed a tax should be a strong election issue for Romney and the Republican Congressional candidates. They can accurately say that Obama gave everyone in the middle class the biggest tax hike in the history of the republic. Possibly bigger than all tax hikes for discretionary program spending combined!
That ship sailed a long time ago.

If we do not see a victory in November AND repeal in the next congress, I for one will be prepared for succession. This country is dying and if the people do not step up and reverse the unstoppable federal Behemoth, it will soon be over.
