What he signed was an abortion bill that would be considered pro life today. It said no abortions except for the health of the mother. He did not know the dems would construe health of the mother to mean any little thing. But even today that bill would greatly limit the number of abortions.

He regretted it because it was used by the dems, libs and socialists to open the flood gates and way more abortions occurred than he ever imagined. He regretted that greatly. But that does not make that bill pro-abortion. It is less pro life than say, no abortions at all under any circumstance or no abortions except for rape and incest or no abortions except for the life of the mother.

But that does not make it pro abortion or pro choice like Romney’s a woman’s “right” to choose to abort her baby should be protected and govt. should not interfere with a woman’s “right” to abort her child. That is pro abort and pro choice. Nor did Reagan’s bill provide $50.00 or free abortions for anyone. That was all Romney’s doing.

Thank you for your detailed comparison of Reagan’s position re abortion vs what disgrace is taken for granted by the left today.

I’m not arguing that Romney isn’t an abortion enthusiast. That’s just one of the the many reasons why ABO’s must hold their noses to try to get to higher ground by 2016; because it ain’t happenin’ this time. We will be lucky to get in a lifeboat, is all.
