The stores and malls around where I live seem to be doing just fine. Jam packed restaurants.

They aren’t here. We were at a Chili’s the other night, and it was almost empty. No wonder! Prices have gone up and potrion sizes have shrunk. We have decided to eat at home as much as possible, and spend less in general. Inflation is really getting to us.

In Virginia we are an aberration. Government largesse, including Military Spending has insulated us from the reality I see most other places I travel. We’ll catch up with the rest of the country in 6 months to a year. Hopefully the rest of the country will not have plumbed new lows by then.
