Why does the headline call the letter “anti-gay”?

It is not necessarily anti-gay to oppose gay hook-ups being called “marriage.” It is just a matter of making reasonable distinctions, which happen to be honored in millennia of tradition, and in virtually all cultures (and certainly all the viable and important ones).

The matter of homosexuality is complicated. It is also personal, and hardly a thing which can be solved by a simple-minded political formula. The left is simply using this issue as another means to corral a demographic into their herd.

Ordinary, polite people with no hang-ups themselves can usually co-exist with all sorts of individuals. Gays are little threat to me, as long as they are not aggressive, and don’t make me watch.

My wife and I are very conservative, yet we have gay friends. We have many friends with whom we do not agree on all matters. No problem. We do not need the government or some identity-movement to tell us how to live.

I rewrote your comments using another sexual perversion:

“The matter of beastiality is complicated. It is also personal, and hardly a thing which can be solved by a simple-minded political formula. The left is simply using this issue as another means to corral a demographic into their herd.

Sorry, just don’t want to be around either type of sicko- especially at a club for families. I set a little higher standard than “As long as they don’t make me watch”. I do think I am polite and respectful to others, but if not wanting your kids to be around sexual perverts is a hang-up...so be it.

my thoughts too about the headline saying anti homo.

Yet again the media try and make it out that if you oppose such sick acts and unnatural acts of sex then it's wrong.

It is they who are wrong and they can write their headlines as much as they want but it won't silence me , it won't make me shut up at events or even at the neighbors and it certainly won't stop me telling my kids that it is unhealthy , unnatural and pretty sick to be honest.

Exactly.

But the left pushes things so anyone against “gay marriage” is anti- gay or “homophobic.”

Next step will be anyone against man/boy love is a bigot. Sandusky will become a Civil Rights martyr.

Why does the headline call the letter “anti-gay”?

Because the letter is certainly not pro-gay; as a matter of fact it spells out the anti-sodomist premise immediately.

My wife and I are very conservative, yet we have gay friends...

Well, the only comment I have here, since you state you're conservatives, is: don't turn you back on a homosexual. You never know when their pleasant demeanor will turn violent and knowing that most all serial killers are and were homosexual. Some are even cannibals.

I don’t care who is gay as long as;
one, they don’t try to force their lifestyle on me or anyone else.
Two, they don’t teach their lifestyle to children.
Three, they keep it behind closed doors.
Four, they don’t try to pretend that somehow their lifestyle is more “normal” or superior to heterosexuality.
Five, they don’t hold “gay pride” parades, after all we don’t hold “straight pride” parades.
Unfortunately a growing number of gay people are unwilling to meet any of these conditions which I personally consider to be quite reasonable expectations, therefore I say to all those, to hell with you and the jackass you rode in on and before you say anything about Matthew Shepard go and study the case of Jesse Dirkhising and then decide whether you really want to talk to me about Shepard.
