Toby Keith and some outstanding footage from our U.S. armed forces says it all ... and more!

For those of a USMC predilection: The Warrior's Song Both of these will make your heart pound in pride and you'll feel your blood surge if you have an ounce of patriotism in your body...

I'm not into the touchy-feely stuff, so I voted for “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. I want to bring down the wrath of God on the American Left, Islamists, and Progressives (or whatever the devil they call themselves).

Of this list, I’m sorry that our national anthem isn’t #1. But Woody Guthrie on here?? C’mon. Certainly Lee Greenwood’s Proud to Be an American deserves a place here more than Guthrie’s. Obviously another liberal poll.

Agree, “God Bless America”, Kate Smith’s version, going back to WWII, is the standard. During the height of the Viet Nam War(demonstrations, riots, etc),1970, she came to a small bar/restaurant, by the courts, near NYC’s Chinatown that was always full of cops during lunch hour. She had heard that her song was played every day on the juke box. She came in, socialized and then sang the song. She was the ultimate patriot. A day I’ll never forget.

There are few people who truly loved America like Irving Berlin did.

Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" is about common (communistic) ownership of land.

Many people - and certainly those camp counselors teaching young mushy heads around a campfire - fail to sing the penultimate verse which explains the rest of the verses:

As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin' (some versions say "private property")
But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
That side was made for you and me!
