Worldwide, 2011 was the coolest year on record since 2008, yet temperatures remained above the 30 year average, according to the 2011 State of the Climate report released online today by NOAA. The peer-reviewed report, issued in coordination with the American Meteorological Society (AMS), was compiled by 378 scientists from 48 countries around the world. It provides a detailed update on global climate indicators, notable weather events and other data collected by environmental monitoring stations and instruments on land, sea, ice and sky.
2011 will be remembered as a year of extreme events, both in the United States and around the world, said Deputy NOAA Administrator Kathryn D. Sullivan, Ph.D. Every weather event that happens now takes place in the context of a changing global environment. This annual report provides scientists and citizens alike with an analysis of what has happened so we can all prepare for what is to come.
Two back-to-back La Niñas, each characterized by cooler-than-average water temperatures in the eastern equatorial Pacific, affected regional climates and influenced many of the worlds significant weather events throughout the year. These included historic droughts in East Africa, the southern United States and northern Mexico. La Niña conditions contributed to an above-average tropical cyclone season in the North Atlantic hurricane basin and a below-average season in the Eastern North Pacific. It was also associated with the wettest two-year period (20102011) on record in Australia, which was particularly remarkable as the wet conditions followed a decade-long dry spell.

From what paper mill did she get her diploma? No agenda there.
If its not warm its “Global Change”. If its hot then its “Global warming”. If its nothing then its “ozone” . These kooks need attention.
Proves my point! Select 2008 and we have cooling. Select 30 years ago we have warming. Pick any time in the last 1000 years and you are picking statistical NOISE as it relates to average worldwide temperatures.
Look at long term trends > 1000 years there is a steady decline in average temperatures.
The ONLY way to make any credible evaluation is to first prove CO2 can cause long term warming. Then if you are able to somehow do that, PROVE the length of time required for MAN MADE CO2 to increase enough to have any effect.
Then and ONLY then can you go back far enough in time to see if CO2 has had the projected effect.
The lying scientists have not used the scientific method to PROVE just the first 2 steps.
Worldwide, 2011 was the coolest year on record since 2008! When people hear this stuff on TV and Radio all they hear is “coolest year on record”. Coolest year in 3 years - big deal but “on record” seems to be some portent of doom - something to be listened to.

“Two back-to-back La Niñas,”
El Nino refers to the Christ child because the current by that name often comes around Christmas time. El Nino comes or it doesn’t, but there is no La Nina current. That’s a left-wing media concoction used to diminish Christ.
Another racist attack on Latinos in blaming them for the weather or lack of it. (sarc off)
These ‘scientists’ are doing the equivalent of fitting a straight line to 1/4 of a sine wave, but most folks are so scientifically and mathematically illiterate that they blindly accept whatever they hear.
On another note, the supposed increase in Atlantic storms could likely be due to advanced observation systems. Even 100 years ago, many times folks found out a hurricane was coming when it showed up at their front door. Nowadays we get to name and number every atmospheric ripple from the Gulf to Morocco.
